The holidays are magical but especially with a homemade touch. We were so lucky to have Evelyn, of Eve Floral Co., back to host a winter wreath workshop. Guests enjoyed treats from The Rhined and Canteen Bakery while they learned how to make a beautiful and fragrant wreath. Holiday tunes played in the background and the fragrance from all of the wreath ingredients truly made it feel like a warm winter evening.
Some of the ingredients we used included magnolia leaves, eucalyptus, silver bell pods, cotton, mini rose hips, thistle and berries. We learned that grape vine wreaths are really easy to work with. Most of the ingredients will stick between the dried vines. Anything that was a little heavier, we had wire to make it hold.
Pro tip: Evelyn said that places like, Home Depot, will cut off the bottom branches of the trees before they sell them. You can ask them for the free scraps to make your own wreath at home. Another great place to get ingredients is Trader Joe's. They have things like eucalyptus and berries that will make your wreath smell AMAZING.
It was really fun to see how everyone's different style came through in their wreath. Some kept theirs very natural with tons of greenery and some added pops of color with the berries and magnolia leaves.
A special thanks to Natalie of Veritas Studio Photography for capturing the evening. If you would like to learn more about our upcoming workshops and events visit here. If you are interested in teaching a workshop at The Frock, drop us a note.
