It’s (almost) wedding season! (My refrigerator is already starting to be a collage of invites!) So if you’re like me, these days your weekends are starting to fill up with wedding and baby showers. You could be the one who gets to help plan your dearest friend’s big day as she is showered in love and gifts for her upcoming nuptials. Fear not! Here are some easy tips to make your planning easy and maybe even fun!
Ask the bride her top 3 things she hopes for the day. Does she value her friends being there the most? Does she REALLY love chocolate cake? Does she enjoy games? What would make her really feel loved?
Fearless Photog! Designate someone as your photographer for the day! You have plenty to do as the party planner and the bride-to-be certainly has enough! Find someone who would enjoy this and delegate!
In with the Old, In with the New. Wedding showers are the perfect place to try out that new recipe, or a new design you saw on Pinterest. However, don’t forget the things of yesteryear! Your Mother or a family member may have an old recipe or tip that could make your planning even easier!
Purposeful Planning. No one likes an event without some kind of purpose and schedule! Try to plan for approximate times for when you’ll hand out dessert, do games, open presents, etc. This can help with the flow of the day and help those anxious guests who like to stay on task. But don’t forget to keep sufficient time just for chatting and hanging out.. The best part!
Head to the “Bar!” We recently featured a fun hot chocolate bar from one of The Frock’s own baby showers. Try your own s’mores bar, a donut bar or a place to dip fondue!
